Blind Ear Law
"Justice is the ability to be heard"

One of the hallmarks of the justice system in the United States is the ability of anyone, rich or poor, to be viewed equally in the eyes of the law. The due process clause of the 14th Amendment gives this idea substance. This notion of “Blind Justice” is often depicted by the famous Lady Justice – a blindfolded woman holding a set of scales.
Of course, “Blind Justice” is far from a reality. While the law may not make a distinction between rich and poor, the process of obtaining justice is greatly influenced by who can afford to be represented in court and who cannot. Too often, those seeking to obtain justice are prevented from even being heard in court because of how expensive the whole process is.
